Ipratropium Br 0.5 mg, salbutamol sulphate 2.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Bronchospasm associated w/ COPD in patients on treatment w/ both ipratropium Br & salbutamol.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult (including elderly) 1 amp 3-4 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to atropine derivatives. Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, tachyarrhythmia.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ the eyes. Patients predisposed to glaucoma, insufficiently controlled DM, recent MI, severe organic heart or vascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, phaeochromocytoma, risk of narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder-neck obstruction, hypoxia, cystic fibrosis. Avoid prolonged use. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, nervousness, tachycardia, fine tremor of skeletal muscles, palpitations; potentially serious hypokalaemia; cough, local irritation; nausea, vomiting, sweating, muscle weakness & myalgia/muscle cramps. Dry mouth, dysphonia.
Drug Interactions
Xanthines, other β-adrenergics & anticholinergics; glucocorticosteroids, diuretics; digoxin; β-blockers; MAOIs, TCA; halothane, trichloroethylene, enflurane.
