ERAZOL cream: Each gram of cream contains Ketoconazole 20 mg.
ERAZOL lotion: Each ml of lotion contains Ketoconazole 20 mg.
ERAZOL shampoo: Per mL Ketoconazole 20 mg.
Ketoconazole is a synthetic Imidazole derivate with antimycotic activities that interfere with ergosterol synthesis, therefore increasing the permeability of cell membrane of fungal sensitive to Ketoconazole.
Cream/lotion: Treatment of dermatophytes infections of the skin, eg. Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea manus, and Tinea pedis due to Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum; treatment of Cutaneous candidiasis and Tinea versicolor; seborrhoic dermatitis due to Pytirosporum ovale.
Shampoo: Dermatophyte scalp infection, e.g seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and Pityriasis versicolor.
Cream/lotion: For treatment of Cutaneous candidiasis, Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea manus, Tinea pedis and Tinea versicolor: apply once daily on the affected and surrounding area. Seborrhoic dermatitis : apply once or twice daily on the affected area, depending on the severity of the infections. Treatment should be continued at least for a few days after the symptoms ceases. Diagnosis should be re-established if there are no clinical improvement after 4 weeks of treatment. In order to control the source of the infections or re-infection, sanitary conditions should be attended.
Duration of treatment: Tinea versicolor or Tinea cruris: 2 - 3 weeks.
Yeast infections: 2 -3 weeks.
Tinea corporis: 3 - 4 weeks.
Tinea pedis: 4 - 6 weeks.
Seborrhoic dermatitis: 2 - 4 weeks.
For maintenance therapy, treatment should be given once or twice weekly.
Shampoo: Seborrheic
dermatitis and dandruff 2x/week
within 2-4 weeks. Pityriasis versicolor 1x/day for maximum 5 days.
Administration: Wash hair and scalp with Erazol Medicated Shampoo, leave for 3-5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.
Hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole.
Avoid contact with eyes. If this happens rinse thoroughly with water.
For external use only.
Use of Erazol during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
Efficacy and safety for use in children is not known yet.
Irritation and burning sensation during treatment with Ketoconazole has been reported, but only rarely.
