Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of duodenal ulcer (up to 8 wk).
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab or 10 mL susp 4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Tab: Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Renal failure & dialysis patients. Allow ½ hr interval before or after Episan if in concomitant use w/ antacids. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation & dryness of mouth; diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, gastric discomfort, flatulence, pruritus, skin rash, sleepiness, vertigo, back pain & headache.
Drug Interactions
May reduce the extent of absorption or bioavailability of cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, digoxin, ketoconazole, norfloxacin, phenytoin, ranitidine, tetracycline & theophylline. Other drugs should be taken 2 hr before taking sucralfate.
