Description

Each 5 mL (1 measuring spoon) contains: Sodium valproate equivalent to valproic acid 250 mg.
Valproic acid is a carboxylic acid. Other chemical names for this compound are 2-propylpentanoic acid, 2-propylvaleric acid and n-dipropylacetic acid.
Its empirical formula is C₈H₁₆O₂ and has a molecular weight of 144.
Valproic acid syrup is antiepileptics for oral administration. The syrup contains the equivalents of 250 mg valproic acid per 5 mL as the sodium salt.
