Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of painful post-traumatic inflammatory states, post-op inflammation & pain. Adjuvant in severe inflammatory conditions of the ENT.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 100-150 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Childn >14 yr 75-100 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Peptic ulcer, patients in whom aspirin & other NSAIDs precipitate attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis.
Special Precautions
Impaired cardiac or renal function, patients on diuretics or w/ extracellular vol depletion, elderly, history of peptic ulceration or GI bleeding. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <14 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Epigastric pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, vertigo, impaired hearing, urticaria, eczema, erythema multiforme, renal impairment, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, anemia, impotence, palpitations, chest pain, HTN.
Drug Interactions
Lithium, digoxin, K-sparing diuretics, other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, MTX.
