Pseudoephedrine HCl
Indications/Uses
Relief of nasal congestion due to common cold.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Childn 2-5 yr 0.8 mL 3 times daily. Infant <2 yr As prescribed by physician. To be taken orally, not for nasal use.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ liver & kidney dysfunction, prostatic hypertrophy, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, urinary retention, heart disease, DM. Pregnancy & lactation. Infant <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Insomnia, headache, palpitation, excitability, tremor, arrythmia, tachycardia, difficulty in urinating.
Drug Interactions
May cause hypertensive crisis if used w/ MAOI. Concomitant use w/ CNS depressants.
