Tab/InfusionAdultCryptococcal meningitis Initially 400 mg, then 200-400 mg once daily. Candidemia & other systemic candidal infections Initially 400 mg, then 200 mg daily which may be increased to 400 mg daily. Systemic candidal/cryptococcal infectionChildn>4 wk 6-12 mg/kg once daily. Neonate 2-4 wk 6-12 mg/kg 48 hrly, <2 wk 6-12 mg/kg 72 hrly.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fluconazole or triazole.
Special Precautions
Monitor liver function during treatment. Discontinue in bullous lesion or erythema multiforme. Monitor blood glucose level & prothrombin time in patients receiving coumarin anticoagulants. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
