Clopidogrel

Prevention of atherothrombotic events in MI, ischemic stroke, non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q-wave MI) in combination w/ ASA, ST elevation acute MI in combination w/ ASA.

Adult & elderly 75 mg once daily.

May be taken with or without food.

Active pathologic bleeding eg, gastric ulcer or intracranial bleeding. Severe liver disease. Lactation.

Patients at high-risk of bleeding; lesion w/ tendency of bleeding. Severe liver disease. Pregnancy.

Bleeding disorders, hematological changes; CNS, peripheral nerve & GI disorders, thrombotic & blood coagulation disorders, skin disease, leucopenia, reduced neutrophil count, eosinophilia, thrombosis, thrombocytopenia purpura, severe thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis, anemia, aplastic anemia/pancytopenia, anaphylactoid reaction, serum sickness, confusion, hallucination, taste disturbances, vasculitis, hypotension, bronchoconstriction, interstitial pneumonitis, acute liver failure, hepatitis, angioedema, erythema multiforme, SJS, urticaria, eczema, lichen planus, arthralgia, arthritis, myalgia, glomerulonephritis, fever, abnormal LFT, increased blood creatinine.

ASA, heparin, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors, NSAIDs, warfarin, thrombolytics.

Anticoagulants, Antiplatelets & Fibrinolytics (Thrombolytics)

B01AC04 - clopidogrel ; Belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors excluding heparin. Used in the treatment of thrombosis.
