Clebopride malate
Indications/Uses
Peptic ulcer & gastroduodenitis. Re-establishing normal GI motility, dyspepsia, anorexia, aerophagia & meteorism, gastritis, reflux oesophagitis, gastritis caused by chronic alcoholism. Vomiting & nausea. Vomiting caused by anticancer drugs & radiotherapy, intestinal obstruction, neurosurgery post-anesth, post-op hiccup, morphological alterations (pyloric stenosis). Vomiting in acute gastroenteritis, uremia, chronic alcoholism. Vomiting associated w/ acetonemia, post-infectious states (pertussis, resp & meningeal infections).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Patients in whom stimulation of gastric motility may be harmful (hemorrhage, obstruction, perforation). Patients w/ proven tardive dyskinesia to neuroleptics.
Special Precautions
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. 1st trimester of pregnancy, lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
On large doses: Drowsiness, breast tension, dizziness.
Drug Interactions
May potentiate CNS effects of phenothiazines & other antidopaminergic drugs. Sedative effects may appear when used concurrently w/ tranquilizers, hypnotics, narcotics & alcohol.
