Cetrorelix acetate
Indications/Uses
Prevention of premature ovulation in patients undergoing a controlled ovarian stimulation, followed by oocyte pick-up & assisted reproductive techniques.
Dosage/Direction for Use
SC 0.25-mg dose Administer once daily, at 24-hr intervals, commence on day 5 or 6 of ovarian stimulation & throughout gonadotropin treatment. 3-mg dose Administer on day 7 of ovarian stimulation. If ovulation induction is not possible on the 5th day after inj then daily doses of 0.25 mg must be administered at 96-hr intervals until ovulation induction is possible.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any structural analogues of GnRH or mannitol. Postmenopausal women. Moderate to severe renal & hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Administration during repeated ovarian stimulation procedure.
Adverse Reactions
Mild & transient reactions at inj site; systemic side effects eg, nausea & headache. Severe hypersensitivity reaction associated w/ cough, rash & HTN; ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
