Dexketoprofen
Indications/Uses
Oral: Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain eg, acute musculoskeletal & post-op pain, dysmenorrhea, toothache. Inj: Symptomatic treatment of acute pain when PO is not possibe.
Dosage/Direction for Use
FC tab 12.5 mg 4-6 hrly or 25 mg 8 hrly. Max: 75 mg. Inj 50 mg 8-12 hrly.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals, especially for quick relief of acute pain.
Contraindications
History of hypersensitivity to dexketoprofen, other NSAIDs. Patient w/ history of asthma attack, bronchospasm, acute rhinitis, or nasal polyps, peptic ulcers, chronic dyspepsia, severe heart failure, moderate to severe kidney dysfunction, severe impaired liver function.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ history of drug allergy, oesophagitis, gastritis & peptic ulcer, dizziness & drowsiness. May increase BUN & plasma creatinine level.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia. Sleep disorders, anxiety, peripheral edema.
Drug Interactions
Synergistic effects w/ other NSAIDs may result to ulcer & GI bleeding. Increased risk of bleeding & damage of GI mucosa w/ concomitant use of anticoagulant drugs eg, heparin, ticlopidine.
