Cefoperazone Na
Indications/Uses
Infection of resp tract, peritonitis & other intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia, skin & soft tissue infection, UTI, GUT infections, endometritis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2-4 g daily IM/IV at 12 hr intervals. Severe infections 6-12 g daily in 2-4 divided doses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
GI disorder (colitis), vit K deficiency. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Skin reactions, fever, hematological changes, increased hepatic enzyme function, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, pseudomembranous colitis, pain at the inj site, phlebitis.
Drug Interactions
Potentially nephrotoxic substances, aminoglycosides.
