Ambroxol HCl
Indications/Uses
As a secretolytic agent in acute & chronic resp tract disorders especially in exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis & bronchial asthma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab 2-3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab 2-3 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Not to be used for prolonged period w/o any doctor's advice. In several cases of renal insufficiency, accumulation of metabolites may occur in the liver. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Minor GI side effects. Skin reactions, facial swelling, dyspnea, fever.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ antibiotics (eg, amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline) may increase antibiotic level in lung tissue.
