Ambroxol HCl
Indications/Uses
As a secretolytic for acute & chronic resp tract disorders, especially in exacerbation of chronic asthmatic bronchitis & bronchial asthma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab 2-3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab 2-3 times daily. Syr Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL 2-3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr 5 mL 2-3 times daily, 2-6 yr 2.5 mL 3 times daily, <2 yr 2.5 mL twice daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Skin rash, severe skin reaction. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, skin allergy, facial edema, dyspnea, fever.
Drug Interactions
Antibiotics (amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline).
