Procaterol HCl
Indications/Uses
Dyspnea due to bronchial asthma, chronic & acute bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 50 mcg twice daily. Childn >6 yr 25 mcg (or 5 mL syr) twice daily; <6 yr 1.125 mcg or 0.2-0.25 mg/kg twice daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, HTN, heart disease, DM. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Palpitations, tachycardia; tremor & headache; nausea & vomiting; skin rash.
Drug Interactions
Epinephrine, isoproterenol, theophylline, diprophylline, betamethasone, prednisolone, hydrocortizone Na succinate, furosemide.
