Ganciclovir
Indications/Uses
Treatment of superficial & viral corneal infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop 3-5 times daily. Max duration: 21 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Men & women of childbearing potential not using a method of birth control. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Do not swallow. Avoid wearing of soft contact lenses. Remove contact lenses prior to application & wait at least 15 min before reinsertion. Allow 15 min interval before administering other ophth prep. Contains benzalkonium Cl. May cause temporary visual disturbances after administration. Wait until normal vision is recovered before driving a vehicle or using any machine. Men should use local method of contraception (eg, condom) for 3 mth after end of treatment. Not recommended in childn <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Transient burning or stinging sensations, eye irritation, blurred vision. Superficial punctate keratitis, conjunctival hyperaemia.
