Locally preventative in post-op & other wounds, in skin abrasion, skin transplantations, 1st & 2nd degree burns of restricted extent, dehiscences of furuncules & abcesses. For local treatment of trophic ulcers, stasis dermatitis, bed sore pressure ulcers, chronic infected dermatosis eg, eczema, dermatomycosis.
Prolonged use may result in overgrowth by non-susceptible organisms or fungi. In cases of extensive wounds, ulcers or burns or cleansings there is a greater possibility of systemic absorption thus causing nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity.
