Adjunct to maximally tolerated statin therapy to reduce risk of MI, stroke, coronary revascularization, & unstable angina requiring hospitalization in adults w/ elevated triglyceride levels (≥150 mg/dL) & established CV disease, or DM & ≥2 additional risk factors for CV disease. As adjunct to diet to reduce triglyceride levels in adults w/ severe (≥500 mg/dL) hypertriglyceridemia.
Do not substitute w/ or combine w/ other products containing omega-3 fatty acids. Associated w/ increased incidence of bleeding. Caution in patients w/ known hypersensitivity to fish &/or shellfish. Periodically monitor ALT & AST levels during therapy in patients w/ hepatic impairment. Not recommended during pregnancy & in nursing women. Not indicated for ped use.
