Description
1 g Travogen contains 10 mg isoconazole nitrate.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: The other ingredients are: White soft paraffin, Liquid paraffin, Cetostearyl alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan stearate, Purified water.
Indications/Uses
Travogen is used for the initial or interim treatment of those superficial fungal infections of the skin which are accompanied by superficial inflammatory or eczematous skin conditions, e.g., in the regions of the hands, the interdigital spaces of the feet, and in the groin and genital regions and erythrasma.
If not feeling better or even worse after 4 weeks of use, ask the doctor.
Travogen helps against all substantially fungal infections of the skin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Always use this medicine exactly according to doctor's instructions. Consult the doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
If not prescribed otherwise by the doctor, adhere strictly to the dosage.
For cutaneous use.
Travogen should be applied once daily to the diseased areas of skin.
A general rule for fungal infections is that topical therapy should be continued for a period of two to three weeks, and for four weeks in cases of treatment-resistant infections (particularly infections between toes).
If prescribed specifically by the doctor, longer periods of treatment are also possible.
To avoid renewed infection, the treatment should be continued for at least 2 weeks after the symptoms are resolved.
Fungal infections may be very persistent and prolonged. To ensure the success of treatment, use Travogen cream regularly and adhere to the recommended personal hygiene measures (see Precautions).
Pediatric patients: There are only restricted data for the use of Travogen cream in newborns, infants, children and adolescents with no negative effects. A dosage recommendation cannot be given.
If forgotten to use Travogen: Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. When remembered, simply use the next dose when due and then carry on with the treatment as prescribed.
If there are any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask the doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Overdosage
If too much Travogen is applied once or Travogen is incidentally swallowed, this is unlikely to be dangerous. Contact the doctor or pharmacist if worried.
Contraindications
Do not use Travogen if allergic to isoconazole nitrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in Description.
Special Precautions
Talk to the doctor or pharmacist before using Travogen.
When using Travogen it is important to know the following: If applying Travogen to the face, it should not be allowed to come into contact with the eyes.
In case of persistent disease in the interdigital spaces (between the toes), soak a strip of gauze in Travogen cream and place it between the toes.
Regular personal hygiene is essential for successful Travogen treatment. In athlete's foot (tinea pedis), the space between the toes must be thoroughly dried after washing, and stockings or socks should be changed daily.
To avoid renewed infection, change personal linen daily (washcloth, towel, underwear - preferably all of cotton) and these should be washed in very hot or even boiling water.
If Travogen is applied to the genital areas, some of its ingredients may cause damage to latex products such as condoms or diaphragms. Therefore, these may no longer be effective as contraception or as protection against sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV infection. Talk to the doctor or pharmacist if more information is required.
Important information on specific excipients of Travogen cream: Cetylstearyl may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
Driving and using machines: No influence on the ability to drive and use machines has been observed.
