Not for inj or ingestion. Cross-hypersensitivity w/ other aminoglycosides. Discontinue treatment if hypersensitivity develops. Risk of neurotoxicity, ototoxicity & nephrotoxicity w/ systemic aminoglycoside therapy. Caution in patients w/ known or suspected neuromuscular disorders eg, myasthenia gravis or Parkinson's disease. Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. Contact lens wear is not recommended during treatment. May affect ability to drive & use machines due to temporary blurring of vision & other visual disturbances. Preferable to avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Ophth soln Contains benzalkonium Cl.
Possible additive toxicity w/ other neurotoxic, ototoxic, or nephrotoxic systemic, oral or topical drugs. Topical corticosteroids w/ tobramycin may mask clinical signs of bacterial, fungal, or viral infections & may suppress hypersensitivity reactions. If >1 topical ophth prep is being used, administer at least 5 min apart; eye oint should be administered last.
