Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop in the affected eye(s) bd (morning & evening).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Uncontrolled cardiac insufficiency; cardiogenic shock; Prinzmetal's angina; sinus dysfunction of the heart; bradycardia; 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, Raynaud's disease & peripheral circulatory disturbances; untreated phaeochromocytoma; hypotension; asthma & chronic pulmonary & bronchial disease w/ obstruction (except on doctor's advice). Concomitant treatment w/ floctafenine or sultopride.
Special Precautions
Perform ophthalmological exam while undergoing treatment. Consult a doctor in case of current or previous occurrence of the following: Coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypotension; heart rhythm disorders; resp problems, asthma or chronic pulmonary or bronchial disease w/ obstruction; poor blood circulation; diabetes; overactive thyroid; phaeochromocytoma; psoriasis; corneal disease. Surgery. Should not be taken w/ amiodarone, certain Ca antagonists (bepridil, verapamil, diltiazem) & β-blockers. Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment. Can induce a positive reaction in anti-doping tests. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in premature babies, newborns, infants.
Adverse Reactions
Generalised allergic reactions, particularly swelling under the skin, hives, localised or generalised skin eruptions, itching, sudden onset & serious allergic reaction; hypoglycaemia; insomnia, depression, nightmares, loss of memory; loss of consciousness, stroke, decreased blood flow to the brain, increase in signs & symptoms of myasthenia gravis, dizziness, unusual sensations, headache; signs & symptoms of ocular irritation (eg, burning sensation, stinging, itching, watery eyes, redness), inflammation of the eyelid, conjunctival redness, conjunctivitis, inflammation of the cornea, blurred vision & detachment of the sub-retinal layer containing blood vessels following filtration surgery, decreased corneal sensitivity, dry eyes, corneal erosion, upper eyelid sagging, double vision, visual disorders including changes in the refraction index; slow pulse, chest pain, palpitations, oedema, changes in heart rhythm & rate, CHF, certain type of heart rhythm disorder, heart attack, heart failure; hypotension, Raynaud's phenomenon, cold hands & feet, claudication; constriction of the pulmonary airways, breathing difficulties, coughing; taste disorders, nausea, indigestion, diarrhoea, dry mouth, abdominal pain, vomiting; hair loss, psoriasis-like outbreaks or worsening of psoriasis, skin eruptions; muscular pain not due to exercise, SLE; sexual disorders, loss of libido, impotence; weakness/muscular fatigue; positive results during tests for anti-nuclear antibodies.
Drug Interactions
Instill other eye drop soln 15 min before using Timabak. Drugs for hypotension, heart problems or diabetes, quinidine, antidepressants eg, fluoxetine & paroxetine.
