Temporary replacement & supplement for synovial fluid. For patients in all stages of joint pathology. Treatment of pain associated w/ OA of the knee, hip, ankle & shoulder.
IA inj only. SynviscOA of the knee Three 2 mL inj in the knee, 1 wk apart. Max: 6 inj w/in 6 mth, w/ min 4 wk between treatment regimens. OA of the hip, ankle, shoulder Initially one 2 mL in the knee inj. A 2nd 2 mL inj may be given 1-3 mth after the 1st inj if adequate symptomatic relief is not achieved. Synvisc-OneOA of the knee 1 inj in the knee. May be repeated 6 mth after the 1st inj if justified by the patient's symptoms.
Do not inj intravascularly, extra-articularly or into synovial tissues or capsule. Large intra-articular effusion. Avoid strenous activities following IA inj. Hypersensitivity to avian protein. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr.
