Indications/Uses
Treatment of peripheral & central neuropathic pain & generalized anxiety disorder in adults. Adjunctive therapy in adults w/ partial seizures w/ or w/o secondary generalisation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Allergic reactions (itching, wheezing, hives, or swelling of the throat or face). History of CHF; lower GI problems eg, constipation, blocked or paralysed bowel. Concomitant use w/ other prescription or nonprescription medicines, or natural/herbal remedies; medicines causing constipation. Kidney problems. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, sleepiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, swelling of extremities, wt gain, trouble concentrating, lack of energy, muscle weakness, constipation, & forgetfulness.
Drug Interactions
Higher chance of dizziness & sleepiness w/ alcohol, anxiolytics (eg, lorazepam), narcotics (eg, oxycodone), sleep-inducing medications. Higher chance of wt gain or swelling w/ antidiabetics (eg, rosiglitazone, pioglitazone).
