Etoposide
Indications/Uses
Small cell lung cancer, malignant lymphomas.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 course of therapy: 175-200 mg daily for 5 consecutive days, followed by a recession interval of 3 wk.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe bone marrow suppression. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Monitor blood count, hepatic & renal function. Long-term use. Bone marrow suppression, hepatic & renal disorders, infection diseases & varicella. Pregnancy. Elderly. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Pancytopenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, hemorrhage, anemia. Increased GOT, GPT, A1-P bilirubin. Increased BUN & creatinine levels. GI disturbances, hypersensitivity, severe alopecia, erythema, pruritus. Psychoneurologic symptoms. CV symptoms. Interstitial pneumonia. Electrolyte abnormality. Malaise, fever.
Drug Interactions
Increased myelosuppression by concomitant use w/ other antitumor agents & radiotherapy.
