Intravascular vol depletion should be corrected prior to initiation of treatment. Renovascular HTN. Periodic monitoring of serum K & creatinine levels in renally impaired & kidney transplant patients. Hypertensive patients w/ type 2 DM & renal disease. Concomitant w/ lithium. Aortic & mitral valve stenosis, obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Primary aldosteronism. Dual blockade of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) through the combined use of ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers or aliskiren is not recommended. ACE inhibitors & angiotensin II receptor blockers should not be used concomitantly in patients w/ diabetic nephropathy. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Lactation. Childn & adolescents.
