Human tetanus Ig

Indications/Uses

Prophylaxis against tetanus following injury in patients whose immunization is incomplete or uncertain. Treatment of active cases of tetanus.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn ≥7 yr Prophylaxis: 250 u IM. <7 yr 4 u/kg/dose. Treatment: Dosage according to severity of the infection.

Special Precautions

History of prior systemic allergic reactions to human Ig prep. Severe thrombocytopenia or any coagulation disorder. Pregnancy, childn.

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation

Adverse Reactions

Slight soreness at inj site, slight temp elevation. Rarely, angioneurotic oedema, nephrotic syndrome, anaphylactic shock.
