HYADD 4 (Na hyaluronate hexadecylamide)
Indications/Uses
Treatment of pain in osteoarthritic joints & in the conservative treatment of the meniscal lesion of the knee & for the improvement of joint mobility through the enhancement of synovial fluid viscoelasticity.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IA Inj slowly in the affected joint. Treatment cycle: Osteoarthritic joints 2 inj administered at 1 wk interval. Joints w/ meniscal lesion 2 inj administered at 2 wk interval.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Infections or skin diseases in the area of the inj site.
Special Precautions
Avoid treatment if the joint shows evidence of acute inflammation. Remove any joint effusion if present before inj. Intended for single use; inj in 1 joint only. Pregnancy. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Local effects eg, pain, swelling/effusion, warmth & redness. Marked inflammatory reactions.
Drug Interactions
Disinfectants containing quaternary ammon salts. Avoid contemporary administration w/ other IA prep.
