Per 100 mL Iodine 5 g, K iodide 10 g
Indications/Uses
Pre-op management of hyperthyroidism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, childn & elderly 0.1-0.3 mL well diluted in milk or water tds for 6 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Do not use for long-term treatment. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions eg, urticarial, angioedema, cutaneous haemorrhage or purpuras; fever, arthralgia, lymphadenopathy & eosinophilia, coryza-like symptoms, headache, lachrymation, conjunctivitis, laryngitis, bronchitis & pain in the salivary glands. Metallic taste, increased salivation, burning or pain. Throat swelling & inflammation, acneiform skin disorders, depression, insomnia, impotence & diarrhea.
Drug Interactions
May interfere w/ thyroid function tests.
