Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of constipation in adult & childn ≥8 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 sachets/day. Childn Max duration: 3 mth.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Dissolve each sachet in a glass of water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), toxic megacolon, perforation or risk of perforation, ileus or suspicion of intestinal obstruction or symptomatic stenosis, painful abdominal syndromes of undetermined reason, fructose intolerance.
Special Precautions
In case of diarrhoea, exercise caution in patients prone for disturbances of water-electrolyte balance (eg, elderly, patients w/ impaired hepatic or renal function or patients taken diuretics) & consider electrolyte control. May rarely cause severe hypersensitivity reactions & bronchospasm due to presence of sulphur dioxide. Contains polyethylene glycol.
Adverse Reactions
Abdominal pain &/or distension, diarrhoea, nausea.
Drug Interactions
May interfere w/ absorption of other drugs if administered simultaneously.
