Betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%, salicylic acid 3%
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory manifestations of hyperkeratotic & dry corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses eg, psoriasis, chronic atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, lichen planus, eczema, dyshidrosis, seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp, ichthyosis vulgaris & other ichthyotic conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cover the affected area completely w/ a thin film of oint bd (in the morning & at night).
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue if excessive dryness, irritation or sensitization develops. Side effects reported following systemic use of corticosteroids, including adrenal suppression, may also occur w/ topical corticosteroids, especially in infants & childn. Increased systemic absorption if extensive BSA are treated or if occlusive technique is used. Reports of visual disturbance. Not for ophth use. Avoid contact w/ eyes & mucous membranes. Pregnancy & lactation. Greater susceptibility of ped patients to hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression & to exogenous corticosteroid effects. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, vision blurred. W/ use of occlusive dressings: Skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria.
