It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, especially thiazide-type diuretics.

Treatment of stable chronic heart failure: Carvedilol is indicated for the treatment of stable chronic heart failure (CHF) of all degrees of severity, whether ischemic or non-ischemic in origin - as an adjunct to treatment with diuretics, ACE inhibitors and optionally digitalis.
