Inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus (CZ02 strain, Vero cell) vaccine
Indications/Uses
Active immunization against diseases caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus in susceptible people ≥3 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM 0.5 mL per dose, 2 doses for primary immunization. Administer 2nd dose 28 days after the 1st dose. Adult ≥18 yr Administer additional dose at least 6 mth after primary immunization. Immunocompromised individual Administer additional dose at least 1 mth after primary immunization.
Contraindications
History of allergic reaction to CoronaVac or other inactivated vaccine, or any component of CoronaVac. Previous severe allergic reactions to the vaccine. Severe neurological conditions (eg, transverse myelitis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, demyelinating diseases). Uncontrolled severe chronic diseases.
Special Precautions
Not for IV inj. No safety & efficacy data for SC or intradermal inj. Avoid exposing CoronaVac to disinfectant during use. Observe individuals for at least 15 min on site after vaccination. Caution in patients w/ acute diseases, acute exacerbation of chronic diseases, severe chronic diseases, atopy, fever; DM, or personal or family history of convulsions, epilepsy, encephalopathy or mental illness; thrombocytopenia or hemorrhagic diseases; impaired immune function; patients undergoing treatment. Do not mix w/ other vaccines in the same syringe. No clinical study on concomitant use w/ other vaccines. Inj of human Ig should be given w/ at least 1 mth interval. Do not use if there is any adverse reaction in the nervous system after inoculation. 1 mL/vial presentation contains 2 doses; should not be vaccinated to 1 person only. Carefully identify different presentations before use. Women of childbearing age. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly ≥60 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Pain, swelling, induration at inj site; headache, fatigue, nausea, cough, rhinorrhea, oropharyngeal pain. Adults: Pruritus, erythema at inj site; myalgia, diarrhea, arthralgia, chills, pruritus, loss of appetite, nasal congestion, abdominal pain. Childn: Fever, abnormal skin & mucous membrane, decreased appetite.
Drug Interactions
Possible reduced immune response w/ immunosuppressive drugs, chemotherapy drugs, antimetabolic drugs, alkylating agents, cytotoxic drugs, corticosteroids.
