History or complication of lung disorder; renal, heart, liver disorders; prior radiation therapy to the chest; chicken pox. Monitor for onset of crepitations (rales). Observe patients for clinical symptoms eg, fever, cough, exertional dyspnea, etc. Examine alveolar-arterial oxygen tension difference (A-aDO
2), arterial oxygen tension (PaO
2), carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DL
CO), etc during treatment & until approx 2 mth after completion of administration. Discontinue in case of an increase in A-aDO
2 or decrease in PaO
2 during 2 consecutive wk. Long-term administration. Concurrent treatment w/ peplomycin or other bleomycin products. Monitor for onset or exacerbation of infection & any bleeding tendency. MI, cerebral infarction due to concomitant use w/ other anticancer drugs. Fibrosarcoma & renal carcinoma in SC administration. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly ≥60 yr. Patients of reproductive age.
