Oral
Hypersensitivity reactions, Pruritic skin disorders Adult: 5-13 mg daily in divided doses.
Child: 0-3 mth: 2.5-5 mg/day; >3 mth: 5-20 mg/day. Doses to be taken in 2-3 divided doses. |

Chống chỉ định
Prostatic adenoma, angle-closure glaucoma, paralytic ileus, pyloric stenosis, myasthenia, status asthmaticus, COPD.

Thận trọng
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Renal and hepatic impairment. Pregnancy and lactation. Children <1 yr. Elderly.

Tác dụng không mong muốn
Gynaecomastia, rash, photosensitivity, urinary retention, dry mouth, constipation, orofacial dyskinesia, somnolence, headache, vertigo, muscular hyptonia.

Tương tác
Additive CNS depression with alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, opioid analgesics, anxiolytic sedatives.

Mechanism of Action: Oxomemazine, a phenothiazine derivative, is a sedating antihistamine. It competitively binds to histamine (H1) receptors, resulting in inhibition of the pharmacological effects of histamines. It also has some sedative, anticholinergic and antiserotoninergic effects. |
