Chống chỉ định
Severe or moderate renal impairment. Patients with uric acid renal calculi, urinary uric acid excretion rates >700 mg/24 hr.

Thận trọng
May exacerbate and prolong acute gout; start treatment only after acute attack has subsided. Adequate fluid intake should be maintained. Monitor liver function.

GI effects; acute attack of gout, uric acid renal calculi, renal colic. May cause liver damage.

Tương tác
Efficacy may be antagonised when used with aspirin and other salicylates. May increase the activity of coumarin oral anticoagulants.

Mechanism of Action: Benzbromarone reduces plasma concentrations of uric acid by blocking renal tubular reabsorption and possibly by increasing intestinal elimination of uric acid. Pharmacokinetics: Absorption: Partially absorbed from the GI tract. Distribution: Extensively bound to plasma proteins. Metabolism: Metabolised in the liver. Excretion: Mainly excreted in the faeces, a small amount appears in the urine. |
