Relief of mild to moderate pain. Treatment of primary dysmenorrhoea, RA, OA, juvenile arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis & acute gout.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Rheumatic disorder 275 mg bd adjusted to 550-1,100 mg in 2 divided doses. Acute gout Initially 825 mg followed by 275 mg 8 hrly until attack has subsided. Dysmenorrhoea Initially 550 mg followed by 275 mg 6-8 hrly if required. Max: 1,375 mg/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Patients in whom aspirin or other NSAIDs induce symptoms of asthma, rhinitis & nasal polyps. Late pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Peptic ulceration &/or GI bleeding. Liver function must be monitored periodically during long-term treatment. Patients w/ heart failure, HTN or other conditions associated w/ fluid retention should be carefully observed.
Adverse Reactions
Heartburn, abdominal pain & nausea. May reactivate latent or cause ulcer. Adverse hematologic & eosinophilia, inhibit platelet aggregation & prolong bleeding time. Pruritus & skin rash.
