Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 2.5-5 mg daily as a single dose, may be adjusted in increments of 2.5-5 mg at intervals of several days. Max: 40 mg daily. Doses >15 mg should be given in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Diabetic ketoacidosis.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, gastralgia, hepatic porphyria, dizziness, drowsiness, headache. Dermatologic & hematologic disorders.
Drug Interactions
NSAIDs, salicylates, sulphonamides, probenecid, chloramphenicol, coumarins, MAOIs, β-blockers. Oral miconazole.
