Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
2 tab daily in the morning & evening.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to other sulphonylureas. IDDM; diabetes complicated by ketosis & acidosis; diabetics undergoing surgery, after severe trauma or during infections.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, headache, rashes, GI disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Rifampicin, thiazide diuretics, adrenaline, chlorpromazine, corticosteroids, cyclophosphamide, diazoxide, gemfibrozil, INH, oestrogens, OCs, phenytoin & thyroid hormones. Chloramphenicol, fluconazole, miconazole & sulphonamides, other anti-inflammatory agents & analgesics including azapropazone, indobufen, phenylbutazone & salicylates; coumarin anticoagulants, heparin, lipid-regulating agents eg, clofibrate; halofenate, MAOIs.
