Dexchlorpheniramine maleate
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of seasonal hay fever, itching skin conditions in urticaria, sensitivity reactions & other allergic conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab tds-qds. Childn 6-11 yr ½ tab tds-qds. Syr Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tsp tds-qds. Childn 6-11 yr ½ tsp tds-qds.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
History of bronchial asthma, hyperthyroidism, CV disease & HTN. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy (1st & 2nd trimester).
Adverse Reactions
Urticaria, drug rash, excessive perspiration, chills; dry mouth, nose & throat; headache, excitation, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, blurred vision, difficulty in urination, early menses, bronchial secretions thickening, chest tightness, wheezing & nasal stuffiness.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol or other sedatives, MAOIs.
