Phenol is used to treat throat and mouth infections and other conditions such as sore throat, mouth ulcers, gingivitis and bad breath.
Use Phenol exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Phenol is available as a solution, lozenge or throat spray.
The solution may be diluted with water to be used as a mouthwash for bad breath and sore throat. To treat mouth ulcers, dab the undiluted solution on the affected area and allow to dry.
If you are using the lozenge, leave in the mouth and suck the lozenge until it dissolves completely.
If you are using the throat spray, apply one spray to the area and spit out after 15 seconds. Do not share your throat spray with others as it could spread infection.
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
