Indications/Uses
Treatment of pain in OA of the knee.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 25 mg to be injected once a wk for 5 wk using standard technique.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Infections or skin diseases at inj site; history of hepatic failure.
Special Precautions
May worsen local inflammation in case of severe joint inflammation due to deforming gonitis. Transient pain may occur after IA inj. Patients w/ inflammatory arthritis eg, RA or gouty arthritis. Avoid strenous activities w/in 48 hrs after IA inj. Do not use by IV inj or ophth administration. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Shock; facial & palpebral edema, facial flare, urticaria & itching; occasional pain, swelling, flare, warmth, severe compressing sense on local site, ecchymosis; nausea, vomiting, fever & headache.
