Indications/Uses
Treatment of candidiasis in the oral cavity.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Intestinal & esophageal candidiasis Adult 500,000 IU (5 mL) or 1,000,000 IU (10 mL) qid. Childn ≥100,000 IU (1 mL) qid. Lesions of the mouth ≥100,000 IU (1 mL) qid. Infant born of mother w/ vag candidiasis 100,000 IU (1 mL) daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Retain susp in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Do not take food/drink at least 1 hr after a dose.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, GI distress, nausea & vomiting, oral irritation & sensitization may occur. Rash including urticaria & rarely, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
