Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL (2 tsp) (equiv to levodropropizine 60 mg) up to tid at intervals of at least 6 hr. Childn >2 yr 1 mg/kg tid, for total of daily dose of 3 mg/kg at intervals of at least 6 hr, 20-30 kg 5 mL up to tid, 10-20 kg 3 mL up to tid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Take between meals.
Contraindications
Excessive mucus discharge & limited mucociliary function. Severe liver impairment.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ serious renal insufficiency. Diabetics; contains sucrose 2 g (equal to 0.2 bread u)/10 mL. Possibility of drowsiness in drivers of vehicles & machine operators. Childn <24 mth.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea; exhaustion, faintness, somnolence, clouding of consciousness (stupor), numbness, dizziness, headache; palpitations. Hypersensitivity reactions in predisposed patients because of paraben content. Allergic skin reactions (very rare).
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ sedative drugs particularly to sensitive individuals.
