Steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated & where superficial bacterial ocular infection exists. Inflammatory conditions of the palpebral & bulbar conjunctiva, cornea & anterior segment of the globe. Chronic anterior uveitis & corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns or penetration of foreign bodies. In combination drug w/ anti-infectives, where the risk of superficial ocular infection is high or potentially dangerous numbers of bacteria in the eye.
Hypersensitivity. Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella & other viral diseases of the cornea & conjunctiva. Mycobacterial infection of the eye. Fungal diseases of ocular structures.
Discontinue if hypersensitivity occur. Not for inj into the eye. Overgrowth of nonsusceptible infections, glaucoma w/ damage to the optic nerve, defects in visual acuity/fields & posterior subcapsular cataract formation & may suppress host response if prolonged use. Fungal infections of the cornea. Perforation in diseases that cause thinning of the cornea or sclera. May mask infection in acute purulent conditions of the eye. Pregnancy & lactation.
Hypersensitivty & localized ocular toxicity including lid itching, swelling & conjunctival erythema; elevation of IOP w/ possible development of glaucoma. Fungal infections of the cornea; secondary bacterial ocular infection.
