Indications and Dosage
Oral
Atrial fibrillation Adult: 100-150 mg as a single dose.

Contraindications
Control of asymptomatic arrhythmias in patients with history of MI.

Special Precautions
Patients with compromised left ventricular function. Electrolyte imbalances should be corrected prior to starting therapy. Hepatic impairment.

Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, visual disturbances and lightheadedness. Nausea, vomiting, headache, tremor, peripheral neuropathy, ataxia and paraesthesia. Hallucinations, amnesia, confusion, depression, dyskinesias and convulsions may also occur.
Potentially Fatal: MI. |

Drug Interactions
Increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias when used with other anti-arrhythmic drugs.

Action
Description: Pilsicainide is a class Ic antiarrhythmic with sodium channel blocking action. It has a depressant effect on intra-atrial conduction and a prolonging effect on the atrial effective refractory period.
