Indications/Uses
Local symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain & inflammation following acute blunt trauma of small & medium-sized joints & periarticular structures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, adolescent ≥14 yr & elderly Apply onto affected site tds at regular intervals. Max: 1 g as single dose or 3 g as daily dose. Duration of treatment: 7 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or NSAIDs. Pregnancy (3rd trimester) & lactation. Childn & adolescents <14 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if skin rash develops. Not to be used w/ airtight occlusive dressing. Avoid contact or application to mucosa or eyes. May precipitate bronchospasm in patients suffering from or w/ previous history of bronchial asthma, allergenic disease or allergy to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAID. Patients w/ history of peptic ulcer, bleeding diathesis or inflammatory bowel disease. May increase systemic undesirable effects w/ oral NSAIDs. Refrain from driving or operating machinery in patients who experience dizziness or other central nervous disturbances. Hepatic or renal insufficiency. Pregnancy (1st & 2nd trimester).
Adverse Reactions
Rash, eczema, erythema, dermatitis (including contact dermatitis), pruritus.
Drug Interactions
May increase adverse reactions w/ acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
