Albendazole

Indications/Uses

Infestations of all common worms eg, roundworm, whipworm, hookworm, pinworm, threadworm & tapeworm.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn >2 yr Roundworm, whipworm, hookworm & pinworm 400 mg as single dose. Threadworm & tapeworm 400 mg as single dose for 3 consecutive days. Childn 12-24 mth ½ adult dose.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Contraindications

Pregnancy. Childn <12 mth.

Special Precautions

Women of childbearing age should initiate treatment during 1st wk of menstruation or immediately after -ve pregnancy test.

Adverse Reactions

GI discomfort, dizziness, headache.
