Famotidine
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer; Zollinger-Ellison syndrome; GERD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer Initially 40 mg at bedtime for 4-8 wk. Maintenance: 20 mg daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initially 20 mg 6 hrly. Max: 800 mg daily. GERD 20-40 mg bd for 6-12 wk.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15 min-1 hr before meals.
Special Precautions
Severe renal insufficiency. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
GI discomfort, headache, dizziness, rash.
