Per 5 mL Brompheniramine maleate 2 mg, phenylephrine HCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of nasal congestion, hypersecretion & cough due to common cold. Symptomatic relief of allergic manifestations of upper resp tract disorders. Effectively controls post-natal drip & consequent cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2 tsp 4-6 hrly. Childn 6-12 yr 1 tsp 4-6 hrly, 2-6 yr ½ tsp 4-6 hrly.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Treatment of bronchial asthma.
Special Precautions
May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Newborn or premature infant. Childn <2 yr & 2-6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, inability to concentrate, lassitude, dizziness, hypotension, muscular weakness & incoordination, GI disturbances, headache, dry mouth; chest discomfort or pain, nervousness, restlessness, trembling, troubled breathing, unusual paleness & weakness.
Drug Interactions
Additive effects w/ CNS depressants eg, alcohol, hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers.
