Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of fever, mild to moderate pain. 500 mg: Fever, headache, dysmenorrhea, muscle pain, arthralgia, neuralgia & toothache.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Chewable tab Childn 7-12 yr 2-4 tab 4-6 hrly, 4-6 yr 1-2 tab 4-6 hrly, 1-3 yr 1 tab 4-6 hrly, 6 mth-1 yr ½ tab 4-6 hrly. Max: 4 doses daily. Tab Adult 1-2 tab tds-qds. Max: 8 tab daily. Oral susp Childn 7-12 yr 5-10 mL 4 hrly, 1-6 yr 2.5-5 mL 4 hrly. Max: 4 doses daily for 3 days. Supp Childn 6-12 yr 1-2 supp of 250 mg 4 hrly, 2-6 yr 1 supp of 125 or 250 mg 4 hrly, 1-2 yr 1 supp of 125 mg 4 hrly. Max: qds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment.
Drug Interactions
Oral anticoagulants, aspirin.
